Easter: Jesus Rose to Bring New Life

  • “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)
  • When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. (John 19:30)
  • For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
  • Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. (John 17:3)
  • Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
        for I have put my trust in you.
    Show me the way I should go,
        for to you I entrust my life.
    Rescue me from my enemies, Lord,
        for I hide myself in you.
    Teach me to do your will,
        for you are my God;
    may your good Spirit
        lead me on level ground. (Psalm 143:10)
